10 Cat Crafts For Adults That Kids Will Love Too

This round-up list is dedicated to some of the best cat crafts for adults and kids alike. I hope you will find something that makes you smile and brings joy to your lives every time you see it!

I’ve always been genuinely impressed by the type of creative people who can look at a group of random items and craft something beautiful with them! My dear friends over at Blessings By Me, Our Little Red House and Bushra’s Lifestyle are perfect pros at this!

It’s been years since I’ve dabbled in making crafts. The thought crosses my mind often that it would be a lot of fun to get back into creating one-of-a-kind pieces with my own hands. That’s a rewarding feeling, isn’t it? πŸ™‚

The most desirable part about making crafts to me, however, is giving them as gifts. You can’t buy creativity like that in a store. You also can’t buy that level of thoughtfulness. Giving or receiving a handmade gift is just extra special. Wouldn’t you agree?

In honor of all my crafty DIY-er friends and readers, I hope this list inspires your creative spark and makes you smile!

To make finding the perfect DIY craft project for you a little easier, these will be grouped by difficulty level. We’ll start off with intermediate to advanced.

Do you enjoy DIY projects and crafts? If so, you've got to see these 10 adorable cat themed crafts for adults and kids alike. Arranged in difficulty from easy to hard - you are sure to find the perfect project for you!

    • Spunk is a cutie pie! I’d gladly have coasters with that face on them! πŸ˜€ I’ve thought about the hammocks you made for your cats quite a lot, actually. I shared your link in one of my posts earlier on because it’s such a neat idea! And I agree, the window basket definitely reminds me of a hammock for kitties as well. They rule the world I tell you! Thanks Tim for your comment!

    • Aren’t these fun? I agree, they look like a lot of fun to do. I hope my DIY craft friends will send me some of their own photos of completed projects. Now that’s fun! πŸ™‚

Always wonderful to hear from you my friend. Be blessed, Sandee! β™₯

  • All of these are so cute that it’s hard to pick a favorite!! The cat window basket is so creative. Amber would love that, although she might fall out trying to get the birds outside. πŸ˜‚

Thank you so much for mentioning me! That’s so sweet of you!! You’re the best and I appreciate you so much! πŸ’•

    • πŸ˜‚ Poor Amber! Some things are just more important than trying to maintain balance, mama! Bird tv is the #1 show, ya know!

I agree about the cat basket. I thought that was pretty smart. And you are more than welcome for the mention! It’s my pleasure to share your talent with everyone else. Your gift makes room for you πŸ™‚

I appreciate you so very much too, Michelle. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you’ve done! πŸ€—

  • Thank you holly for the mention, you are always so kind thinking of others. I have three favorites that I really want to try making when I have some time. The cat cans are a fun project to do with kids and they are not expensive to make in supplies. I love the cat hoody too and the basket in the window I know my cats would love. I did a cat craft once, it was awhile back. https://ourlittleredhouseblog.com/2019/10/23/diy-cat-baskets-for-halloween-treats/, little baskets to fill with candy treats. We have three cats in our home and they all have unique characteristics about them. They keep the whole family happy and laughing. The best part is when they know when one of us is upset an they jump up purring to sit in our laps. Such sweet little creatures.

    • Awww! I really love your diy cat baskets. They are adorable. If it’s okay with you, I think I’ll add your cat craft to my DIY craft list is a +1? I’m also considering making this into a series – finding fun cat crafts that adults can do, as well as kids. What do you think? I have so many amazing friends, like you, who are gifted at creating things with their hands. Seems fun to feature ideas that might spark some more ideas! πŸ™‚

It is my absolute pleasure to mention you & your blog! I’ve shared your posts on my social media accounts, which I created just for blogging. (Hubby and I neither one had an account before I began this site and Wholeness Haven).

The 3 crafts you picked to try sound like a lot of fun. The window perch really impressed me as well. To create something so nice for such little money is a big blessing. It’s why I love what you do so much! Always a pleasure to hear from you, friend. Thank you so much for coming in & sharing your thoughts! πŸ€—

      • So sorry, took so long to get back with you, a lot going on over here in my life but I am slowly catching up bit by bit. Thank you so much for all the encouraging words you give to all of us bloggers out here. Yes, absolutely you can share whatever you like that I make. The more people that create the more everyone will be happy I believe. When we create and share that with others it always comes from a place of love and kindness. Creating is the opposite of destroying and that is why I am always pushing for everyone to take time and slow down and use those hands of yours to make something pretty.
I love your idea of making this a regular thing of creating and sharing that. Hope you are having a wonderful month of Valentine treats and spending time with your love ones. Have a great week.

    • Isn’t that no sew pillow adorable? I agree! And it does look like Midnight (and our Dizzy!). Knowing how abused black kitties are, I always feel an affinity toward them. β™₯ They are very special. It’s wonderful to see you again!! Thank you for stopping in, my friend. πŸ€—

    • The perch basket seems to be a big hit. I think she did an amazing job with that one, too. The coasters seem like a lot of fun as well, I agree. πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for stopping in to share your thoughts with me!

    • Aw, thank you so much Janet. I’m glad you enjoyed! πŸ™‚ Was considering making this a series that I continue for all of my DIY craft loving friends. What do you think?

Have a blessed day, sweet sis! πŸ™πŸΌ

  • I’ve been wanting to get back into arts and crafts stuff for ages, but it’s been like coming up against a wall I can’t quite get past. So this is fantastic inspiration and you’re so right about how something crafted not only gives you a sense of achievement but they end result can make a fantastic unique gift, made with effort, thought and care. But where to start here?! There are so many cute makes!!

I’m a sucker for coaster and mugs, so I’d love to make a little kitty coaster. I’ve never tried crochet but I’m curious as to just how you do it. However, if my dire knitting skills are anything to go by, this is probably one I should stay away from for my own sanity and safety. I’ll show it to my mum as she really enjoys knitting so I think she’d probably quite enjoy crochet. And selfishly, I want a kitty poncho! The cat perch is so sweet. It made me wonder if you could make like a little swing, but you’d need an adventurous cat to get in it. I’m tempted by the storage baskets, too. I took a look at the instructions and it’s just rope and glue and only 4 steps, so a nice easy make.

You really have found some amazing ones here, Holly! Plenty of variety for all different interests and skill levels and budgets. I saw your comment above about a series on your blog for DIY crafting – just wanted to say I think that’s a great idea and you would be perfect for it!!

    Caz xx

  • Holly, You are amazing at crafts!! I love Michelle’s crafts but you have left both of us behind… I mean, I should not even include myself. Very professional crafting. We are going to try the one with felt cats… My kids would love that craft as they love anything related to cats. Might hang them besides our cat bed. I might do a blog post and link yours for a reference. Already pinned it. I am glad we met through blogging, as you are an amazing person. May God bless you!

    • Aw Bushra you are so very kind! Your words have touched my heart, thank you! I believe in being the best version of me as possible – living in thoughtfulness, kindness and compassion. I don’t always achieve the heights I’d like to but I try! πŸ€—

Unfortunately, I wish that I could take credit for the crafts in these photos but I can’t. πŸ™‚ These are all crafts done by others I admire in the blogging community. Knowing that I have so many brilliant crafters and DIY-ers (like yourself), I hoped to inspire some creative ideas. Selfishly, I hoped you all would share your creations with me too!

I hope you and your kids will decide to do the felt cats. If you try them, please share with me how you liked it? God bless you, sweet Bushra. Thank you so much for coming by and sharing your thoughts! πŸ’•
