There’s A Cat In The Dryer!
Nope! It’s not a cat in the hat. But there sure is a “Dizzy” cat in the dryer!
Follow my blog with BloglovinDizzy fancies “helping” me do household chores. This fun moment happened yesterday after a load of clothes. The dryer was freshly warmed up and she was not wanting to part with her new space just yet.
Each time I reached for the clothes that were occupying the dryer, it became an ever so entertaining game of, “MINES! MINES! You can’t haz it mama!” (sigh)
Bill (cat daddy) and I have to be extra careful to keep an eye out for her, since she is so fond of climbing in our clothes dryer every chance she gets. Typically she will come out when it’s time to fold. Folding clothes is another chore she excels at – at least unfolding & scattering them are!
A Moment of Seriousness
There are many precious felines accidentally killed with dryer incidents. Cats do love the warmth from a clothes dryer and will climb in while you don’t notice. Once the dryer is running, it would be unlikely you’d hear them yowling for help.
I wanted to use this post as an awareness of this issue. Please be careful to keep an eye out for your kitty. There are some precautions you can take to prevent a tragedy from happening unknowingly in your home.
It’s important you check inside the drum to look for any signs of your kiddo. Bang on top of the dryer with your hands to spook anyone who might be inside the dryer. Do whatever you need to do to ensure everyone is safe and sound.
I don’t want to see the heartache of such a terrible accident visiting you or your cat(s).
Prevention Is Best
Always keep the doors to appliances closed (washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer).
Grief Healing – Prevention Tips
Keep the door to your laundry room closed.
Place sticky notes on your appliances to remind you to check first for kitty’s presence.
Once you’ve loaded your washer or dryer (and before you turn it on), check the inside with a sweep of your hand.
If you hear any noise or strange sound coming from your washer or dryer, investigate immediately.
Any Other Super Helpers Out There?
Does your cat love to help you with chores too? Does your cat love to get in the dryer to get warm? What are some ways you’ve prevented them from getting hurt?
Looking forward to hearing from everyone in the comments below. And as always, thanks a million for sharing this post with your friends on social media. ♥ I appreciate y’all!
Have an amazing day & many hugs to your feline family!
