Neighborhood Watch Cat Sees Everything You Do!
Cats like knowing your business. Allll of your business and as many other people’s business as possible!
Our Dizzy comes in and tells us everything she knows! We have laughed many times at how much of a gossip she is. Despite our best efforts to teach her this is not appropriate behavior, her quests to be naughtily nosy continue on! Appropriate doesn’t appear to be in her vocabulary. 😐
One of her absolute favorite places in our home is the bay window. Much excitement in her world occurs here.
Birds flying by, lizards walking along the brick ledge, squirrels doing their best acrobatic tricks and the humans doing whatever they do. But most especially, those hellion stray cats that have no business in her yard! You’ll be hard pressed to find a more dedicated neighborhood watch cat than our Dizzy!

Haha, happy Friday! I’m giggling thinking how our Nemo looks out the window at the gardener or a squirrel with such glee 😀

My three cats have windows covered and work shifts so nothing happens they don’t know about. If they come running into the room, then I go look as something serious must be out there!
That’s hilarious, Greg! You got me laughing for sure. Do they growl at all? Dizzy growls at people she doesn’t recognize. UPS, FedEx, people working on utilities, etc. It’s pretty darn hilarious! 😀
So funny!! My tabby cat Amber is a gossip, too. She can’t keep her mouth shut. She can’t wait for me to get up in the mornings so I can open the back door for her. She sits and fusses at all the birds.
Squirrels are the most common animal and they know the cats cannot get them from the catio so they move in close to taunt.

That’s funny. Squirrels are very comical too. Watching them provides endless entertainment.
They have nests in the trees out back along with possums but those come out at night. Didn’t mean to send two comments as I thought I messed up the first one!
Possums are pretty fascinating creatures, too. I had one who came in the breezeway each night & thought he was a cat. It was pretty darn cute!
No worries about the comment. Sometimes that happens 😉
Squirrels are the main attraction as there are so many.

The creature they find most interesting to watch outdoors is another cat. They run from window to window trying not to lose sight of it, while Scooby does that weird cat talk “Yeow Yeow Yeow”. They run from window to window to room to room at full speed irregardless of knocking anything over. Squirrrels and birds are interesting but do not elicit excitement. The cats skulk away from strange people they see. No growling.
Hahaha! Oh goodness, this sounds so familiar – the window to window dance. Scooby sounds like he is giving those outdoor kitties the “what for!”

This reminded me so much of my old dog, who sadly passed several years ago now. He was the most gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and he’d be constantly on the look-out for goings on outside, sat on the arm of the sofa against the window in the living room, nosing on the neighbours. My cat, on the other hand, likes to peruse the garden vicinity by tightrope walking across the fences but most of the time he’s pretty unconcerned about what’s going on. xx
Dizzy is pretty fierce! Well, she fancies herself to be anyhow 😀
Awww Caz, your Spaniel sounded so very special. Spaniels are absolutely incredible dogs. They are charming, smart, have beautiful, soft coats and are just great dogs. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you miss him dearly! I enjoyed reading your recollection of him 🙂
