Is This Seat Taken?
Our Cat Is A Chair Thief: Is Yours?
“Is this seat taken?” Dizzy says, “Why yes, yes it is!”
Hmph! She claims she’s just trying to warm our chairs up for us but we all know better than that! 😛
Our Dizzy…she is good for a whole lot of laughs. And she is a chair thief. BIG time!
As soon as you get up to do anything, she will immediately hop in your chair, look at you with sad eyes and beg of you not to disturb her most favorite spot in the whole world!
I hadn’t even been up for 5 minutes when this happened….

So tell me, do you live with a chair thief? 🙂 I’d love to hear in the comments section below!
They wait for you to get up and then claim your spot and most of the time we let them have that spot. It’s just how things god.
Have a purrfect day. My best to your mom. ♥
Aww Sandee, how sweet! 🙂 We just live here, don’t we? The rest is up to them!
I am sending you lots of love & hugs from myself and Dizzy. Have a beautiful day friend. Thank you for coming and sharing your thoughts ♥
Haha yes we have 2 of them! I wonder if it’s the warmth of the chair or bed they like so much that makes them want to go there immediately after we get up 😉
Haha! Glad to know I’m not alone in this chair battle 😀 I think some of it is warmth and some of it is, “Just so we’re clear – you know I own this (and this house) right? Lest you forget my power, I will remind you!” 😛 What do you think?
So good to hear from you, Christy! Thank you for taking the time to comment. I enjoyed hearing about your 2!
Laughing, I just did a post of Midnight doing the exact same thing. Yep, they love our favorite chairs too.
Now I’m laughing too 🙂 Great minds think alike! Midnight is adorable. He looks quite content being your chair thief. It’s their world. We are just privileged to be here and serve them!
Thank you for taking your time to come by & comment! I appreciate you.
Have no chair story but have a bed story instead, friend Holly … I have 2 bed room condo, but all I really need is a bed because I work nights. Coming home from work, ready to fall into bed … there he is, Theo that is, laying in my spot, occupying my pillow. … too cute. Much love says this Alberta cat and her cat Theo.
Oh that is too cute! Theo sounds like a lot of fun. He’s just making sure no one else steals his mama’s pillow, ya know? All nice and toasty for you – although furrier than you last left it 🙂
Thank you so much for coming by and sharing this with me <3 I appreciate you! Much love to you and Theo!
Cute Dizzy, but I was drawn to the chair in the top picture firstly – I love it!
My cat gets a bit like this too, but he knows better now than to jump on my bed before I get on and set up my laptop. He’ll wait patiently until I’m ready (usually). But chairs downstairs? No chance! xx
The chair is great isn’t it? 🙂 Definitely unique. And Dizzy thanks you for calling her a cutie!
I can see your cat now, just watching you, waiting. Wondering when all of your preparations will be finished so he can *finally* get some peace and rest 🙂 Very cute. They really can be extremely comforting.
As for the chairs downstairs, I’m sure you’ve been given quite a few looks about those? 😛 Thanks for responding, Caz!
A cat always claims the chair I plan on sitting in, five minutes before I get there!
That sounds so familiar 🙂 Do you have mercy and leave them be, try to share, or claim your territory as your own?
I do believe they have some kind of telepathy powers!
With the exception of my PC chair, I always let them be! 😻😻😻
Aww! So sweet! We can relate in our home <3
Aww, Dizzy is beautiful!! We have feral cats that we have rescued. They live outside but can come and go on our porch. They love our chairs with cushions! It makes me happy to peek out the window and see them all lying around sleeping like they don’t have a care in the world. I hope I’m providing them that sense of security.
Thank you so much for your compliment! I fear telling Dizzy because she already has a big head! (haha, kidding!) She’s rotten and she knows it.
Bless you for taking care of the feral cats who came there. Isn’t it amazing how they seem so peaceful and content when they are napping? Even just looking at them evokes a feeling of calm. Don’t you think?
Haha! Dizzy sounds like quite the character!
Yes, they are so peaceful. And how they wake up slowly and stretch and roll around a little. So precious!
Oooh if you only knew my friend! Dizzy would be a great character for a children’s book actually. She is *always* up to some kind of antic that mom & dad rather she not be! 😉
I know exactly what you mean – it is precious how they take their sweet time just deciding whether or not naptime is really over. 🙂 Can’t say as I blame them there!
I bet she would be a wonderful character for a book!! And right up my alley!
Yes, I wish I had the luxury of deciding if sleepy time was over or not. 😀
Amen to that Wanda! 😊 Hugs! Have a beautiful day!
You too, Holly! 🌺
We called our two cats “chair stealers.” Sadly they are both gone. 15 years.
Aw! So sorry you lost them. Sounds like they were quite the characters too! I thank you for coming by and taking your time to share your thoughts with me. Hope you’ll come back and share more 🙂
One of my cats is definitely a chair thief! He loves to lie in the chair in front of my computer.
Hi Linda! Sounds like your kitty and our Dizzy have the same favorite chair! I wonder if they’re trying to tell us to work less and nap more? 😁
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I appreciate you!
Cats rule the world.
Some times it is difficult to know WHO is the master?😹😹
They’re not thief masters though.😺😻😹
Haha! You are so right – they do rule the world (and they know it!) 😀
I’m pretty sure Dizzy knows who the master is around this place! How about yours? 🙂
My cute cats are so humble some times they give us a chance to share mastery.
I love them more but they love me most.
My Sweetie lost for almost a month we searched her every where but all efforts went vain. But sweetie didn’t give up she came back herself after a month around 3: 45 am.
Now tell me who loves most?
Definitely Sweetie 😻😻
Aww! What a sweet story! I laughed when you mentioned sharing mastery. I think our Dizzy lets us think the same at times!
Your Sweetie sounds absolutely precious. I am so thankful she came back home for you! I know you must have missed her terribly. Sounds like a lot of love in that home. I’m grateful you have each other ♥
Thank you so much. ❤😻
She is a rescued cat grown up by one of my tom cats Mirzoo. 😻
God bless you for rescuing ♥ They are the best! One thing I know, they never forget the love you showed them by saving their lives.
Exactly. ❤😻
Remember one thing cats around the globe are same.😹😻😺
Very true! We can all relate to the antics and the fun! Hah! ♥
Thank you so much for taking the time to send your thoughts. Hope you will come back and share more stories of your kiddos!
Thanks for your lovely reply ❤
My pleasure ♥
If you would like to know my cats you may visit my blog 😻😻
Sounds like a plan. 🙂 I hope your day is absolutely blessed & wonderful. Thank you again for taking your time to respond. I appreciate you all ♥
That is so true! Muffin will always steal my chair if I get up, even if she is happily sleeping elsewhere. She knows when I get off that chair, even if I’m quiet! She will do the same in bed, when I get up and come back, there she is, in MY spot, and she won’t move either! Oh well, that’s the way it is, maybe one day she will have me trained just the way she wants. Have a great day!
Hahaha Steve, that is precious! I love how you said, “oh well, maybe one day she’ll have me trained the way she wants.” You know, that’s exactly what they’re thinking! 😀 Muffin is so adorable though – you can’t help but just sigh and let her have her way!
So grateful you came by and took the time to leave your story of Muffin. Thank you! ♥
My pleasure Holly, I have gotten behind in my reading lately and I’m trying to catch up with everyone! Love your site, you have some great cat fun there!😸
I completely understand! I’ve been behind myself and trying to do the same as you 🙂 Glad you enjoy coming here. You, Muffin and all the cutie critters are always welcome! ♥
Thanks Holly, we will be visiting more often now!
Glad to hear it 🙂
