If you’re like me, you may have been unfamiliar with Petlibro until just now.
Who are they and what do they stand for?
Their tagline “Essential Pet Gadgets,” is the perfect way to describe what they do over at Petlibro!
In 2019, this group of pet lovers formed a business that would come to serve pawrents around the globe with quality, affordable, and really awesome pet gadgets.
Petlibro believes that every product they sell should help your life and make your pet’s life a whole lot sweeter too.
I’ll let you hear it in their own words from their vision statement, “To create an easier, happier, healthier, everyday life for both pets and pet owners.”
As you’ll read in my own experience, I’d say they’ve succeeded in doing just that!
Their automatic cat feeder is just one of the amazing products you’ll discover from Petlibro.

Key features of the Petlibro automatic cat feeder
Now that we’ve spent a little time getting to know the creator of this neat gadget, let’s take a look at why you might enjoy it too. I’ll do my best to cover each area of interest.

Design
Personally, I love their design and think you will too! It is minimalistic, straightforward to use, and has removable trays that are a breeze to clean!
As you can see in the photos above, the stainless steel tray rests inside of and on top of the white plastic tray.
The hand-washable parts of this automatic cat feeder are the food tank, food trays, and lid with the desiccant bag removed. These are not dishwasher-friendly!
In my experience washing these, saliva build-up and fur clean off with very little effort, even after the sloppiest of eaters. Ours win awards for that!
The front display has 3 LED lights to indicate the status or potential problems. The instruction booklet gives clear directions as to what each light means and how to troubleshoot if needed.
Also included are a record button (explained later in this review), a reset button, and the feed button.
Battery back-up power gives peace of mind that even when the power is out, your automatic cat feeder will not be out of service!

If you are technically challenged, I’ve got great news for you!
Putting together the Petlibro automatic cat feeder couldn’t have been any easier!
As you can see in the photo above, only a few pieces need to be assembled and there’s no real guesswork to it!
In case of any questions, Petlibro sent along a very nice informational booklet as well. To be honest, I was impressed with the quality of the packet they sent.
No more worries about stale food either! The 4-liter bin keeps kibble fresh with a desiccate bag in the lid (as photographed above).
Plus, with the portion control feature, you can feed only enough for one sitting.
Working WiFi and the App
I have a confession. My husband and I really don’t have any “smart devices” other than Alexa so this WiFi automatic cat feeder idea was entirely foreign to me!
If you’re anything like me and have no clue how that would work, let me explain a little. 😊
- First, you have to download an app on your phone called Smart Life.
- Second, you add the WiFi feeder to your devices list in Smart Life through Bluetooth.
- Third, you connect the automatic cat feeder through your home’s WiFi connection & tap “confirm”
I’ve included some pictures I took to help illustrate. Hope they help!
Once you’ve successfully added the Petlibro WiFi feeder, you can now control the feeder from anywhere at any time using the app on your phone.
In the Smart Life app, you can choose when to feed, how much to feed, and even set a schedule automatically.
Note: According to the booklet, the app requirements are as follows: iOS 9.0 or later, Android 4.4 or later, a wireless router, and a high-speed internet connection.
Helpful tip: Once you have your automatic cat feeder connected to the WiFi in your home, select a number and press the “feed” button.
The numbers relate to the amount of food being dispensed – not the number of cats.
Our kitties LOVE to eat in our home which means I use 5-12 the most.
To give you an idea, the photo below is the portion served when the number 1 is selected.
I’ll be honest; it was surprising how little came out. (about 2 1/2 tsp) Our cats looked at me with a concerned face!
There is a feed button on the main display but I find that to be inefficient due to the small amount of food it serves up after one push.
When we are home, we mostly just use it as we would a regular food bowl.
It was a lot of fun to feed Dizzy from our bed though!
Somewhere in the pre-dawn hours of the morning, she was apparently starving because she hadn’t eaten for at least 1 whole hour. 🤣
I grabbed my phone from the nightstand, selected a number, hit feed, and away she went into the kitchen!
Brilliant, I tell you! This should save some precious sleep for quite a few pawrents!
Petlibro 4L WiFi Automatic Cat Feeder Fun Features
As mentioned earlier in this review, there is a record button on the display panel.
“Why is there a record button,” you ask? So glad you did! 😊
Your pet loves to hear your voice! That’s why Petlibro thought up a fun solution!
This gadget allows you to record up to a 10 second sound clip that plays each time you hit “feed.” How neat is that?

You may not always be able to be with them when it’s time to eat but it’ll help your kiddos feel like you are!
Another really neat feature is the smartphone alert.
When you have chosen to program specific feed times at different points of the day automatically, a pop-up notification on your phone will alert you that your pet has been fed!
You’ll get peace of mind and they’ll get their favorite snack! 😉

Final Thoughts
Overall, I am very impressed with the quality, affordability, function, and design of this automatic cat feeder!
If you feed your cat kibble, the ability to feed them from anywhere your mobile phone works is amazing!
I do wish there was an option to feed canned food somehow.
For the most part in our home, dry food is only an in-between ‘snack’ to supplement the wet food we feed.
(Note: There is a debate about whether or not kibble is ever safe for your cat to eat)
In all honesty though, we really have been enjoying our Petlibro 4L WiFi-enabled automatic cat feeder and I think you would too.
Greedy gut Pips comes running every time I hit the “feed” button. (Unless of course nap-time is more important!)

Lots of great information on this but I don’t like “depending on the internet”. I am sure that is how the cat “Spot” was fed on the Enterprise Next Generation. How to make sure multiple cats get their fair share is a problem even without “automation”!

As for the internet, I get where you’re coming from. That’s why I was pleased that it does have the manual feed button on the front of the device. Plus, when we’re home, we just use it as a standard bowl anyhow 99% of the time. It is handy when you can’t be home though!

This is an incredible review – they did well having you review this for them as you’ve given such helpful insights! It’s amazing to see how technology is changing so many aspects of our lives, and now our kittykats can benefit too. I’d never come across a feeder like this before and the fancy wireless set up. It’s such an awesome idea and I could see this being very helpful for plenty of slaves to their felines hunger schedules 😺
